EID UL ADHA CELEBRATIONS AT QUEEN'S PARK - OCTOBER 21, 2014

The 18th annual Eid celebrations at Queen's Park  were held in Room 230 of the Main Legislative building.  Many Members of Provincial Parliament from all political parties attended this reception during their lunch break. 

Ontario Premier, Hon. Kathleen Wynne was the Guest of Honour and cut the cake.  Andrea Horvath, Leader of Ontario New Democratic Party and Jim Wilson, Interim Leader of the Ontario Progressive Conservative Party also attended.

Hon. Yasir Naqvi, Minister for Community Safety and Correctional Services and Government House Leader co-hosted this event.  Hon. Dave Levac, Speaker of the House, Hon. Michael Couteau, Minister for Tourism, Culture and Sports and the Keynote Speaker at our Canada Day celebrations in 2013, and also Hon. Reza Moridi, Minister of Training, colleges and Universities attended to name a few.

Indian Consul General, Mr. Akhilesh Mishra and Pakistani Consul General, Mr. Asghar Ali Golo represented the Diplomatic Corps.  Chief Bill Blair of the Toronto Police and Deputy Chief Andre Crawford of York Regional Police Services attended with several officers from the police services.

Retired Chief Armand La Barge was the Master of Ceremonies.
