9TH ANNUAL EID-UL-ADHA - FEBRUARY 11, 2004 Mr.
Justin Trudeau, the eldest son of the late Prime Minister, accepted the Eid-ul-Adha
2004 Award on behalf of his father. He charmed the
audience with his smile, graciousness and warmth. Among
the distinguished guests were The Right Honourable Paul Martin (Prime Minister),
Hon. Irwin Cotler (Minister of Justice & Attorney General of Canada), Hon.
Bill Graham (Minister of Foreign Affairs) Hon. Stephen Owen (Minister of Public
Works and Government Services), Hon. Jean Augustine (Secretary of State-
Multiculturalism & Status of Women), Senators, including Hon. Marcel
Prud’homme, Hon. Mobina Jaffer, Hon.Vivienne Poy, several Members of
Parliament from all federal political parties, Ambassadors and High
Commissioners of over 20 countries
(including Saudi Arabia, U.S., Iran, India, Sri Lanka and Pakistan), as well as
Community and Business/Corporate leaders. The Keynote Address: “Cool Intelligence” was eloquently delivered by Mr. Stephen J. Toope, President of the Trudeau Foundation. This year, Hon. Senator Marcel Prud’homme and RBC Financial Group were recognized for their contributions to Canada and presented with plaques and gifts - John Perry's "School of Dolphins". Mr. Charles Coffey, Executive V.P. Government and Community Affairs received the plaque on behalf of RBC.
